New Years resolutions for 2016

Happy new year to all our clients both old and new, we hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Years eve celebrations. We thought we would make a few new years resolutions to kick start the new year.

Submit personal tax returns on time

If you have not done so already, you are starting to run out of time to submit your personal tax return so grab your forms or call your accountant and submit your return before the 31st of January deadline.

Tidy desks for tidy minds

Its an old saying, but one that is definitely worth following that if you keep your desk tidy, you will have better focus on your daily work. One thing I have noticed that a lot of people forget is that the desktop of their PC or Mac can also be a distraction. Try to keep the number of icons on your desktop to a minimum.

I have a folder on my desktop called "Tidy Up" and every now and then I drag all other files on my desktop into that folder, that way I know I will always be able to find the files, but they are not distracting me on a daily basis.

Network with more people

As another saying goes "it's not what you know, it's who you know" so our next resolution is to try and do more networking this year, I often hear people say that they don't have time to network, but if you are in a small business, surely the more people who know what you do, the higher likelihood that you will get more business knocking on your door?

That has certainly been the case for QV Offices who last year recorded our highest number of meeting room bookings and the majority are from new clients who have either found us online or heard of us from a friend.
